Two abducted girls rescued in Kurigram

RANGPUR, Nov 19: Two girls were rescued from Sonarhat border area at Bhurungamari Upazila under Kurigram district Thursday night after 7 days of abduction.
Police said, Romana Begum (13), daughter of Elias Ali of Babukhanh in Rangpur town and Bilkis Akther (14), daughter of Azizul Haque of Mahiganj area in Rangpur Sadar were abducted on November 9 while they were returning home from school.
On information, police rushed to the Sonarhat border area at Bhurungamari Thursday night and rescued the girls while they were being trafficked to India.
A man named Titu Miah (35), was arrested in this connection.
Two arrested with fake currency notes
SYLHET, Nov 19 (UNB): Local people caught two people along with fake currency notes from a bazaar in Goainghat upazila in Shylhet and handed over them to police on Thursday night. The arrestees were identified as Jasimuddin, 26, son of Tota Mia and Nur Ahmed, 27, son of late Abdus Samad. Both are residents of North Pantumai Dhalarpar village of the upazila.
