Two AL activists killed in Jessore

JESSORE, May 23: Two activists of the ruling Awami League (AL) and its youth wing were killed at Kanairali village under Jhikargachha Upazila in Jessore on Friday night.
The dead were identified as Ruhul Amin (42), Vice-president of Awami Juba League and Awami League activist Ansar Ali (48).
They were killed while on way home by a motorcycle, unidentified killers slaughtered them after hurling bombs on them.
Ruhul Amin hailed from Nirbashkhola while Ansar Ali from Sadipur under the Upazlila. Ruhul Amin was an alleged gang leader of the locality.
Family members and the AL accused Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) activists for the killings while the BNP denied the allegation.
The AL brought out procession at Jhikargachha Upazila headquarters in protest of the double murder and demanded immediate arrest of the killers Saturday.
Officer in-Charge of Jhikargachha police station Abdur Razzak said that no case was filed until filing of this report.
