Two AL leaders held for damaging dais at a temple at Pabna

PABNA, Dec 24 (UNB): Two Awami League (AL) leaders were arrested on charge of damaging a dais created at a temple at Brishalikha under Bera Upazila in the district Saturday night.
The police said the authorities of a local temple made a dais to perform the drama 'Behula Lakkhindar'.
But when the artistes started their performance, a gang of terrorists, allegedly led by AL General Secretary of Bera municipality Nazrul Islam and Rabiul Islam, attacked and ransacked the dais.
The police had to fire three tear shells to bring the situation under control as chase and counter chase started between the two rival groups after the incident.
The situation became normal after the police arrested Nazrul Islam and Rabiul Islam in this connection.
