Two assistant attorneys general (AGs) have resigned in the middle of their performance evaluation process, reports bdnews24.com.
Advocates Ahmad Musanna Chowdhury and Md Muzahedul Islam tendered their resignations to the President on Thursday, said Md Nasir Uddin, administrative officer of the Attorney General's Office.
After Ruhul Quddus Kazal's appointment as the country's top law official, the evaluation of deputy and assistant attorneys general started on March 31.
On the first day, deputy attorneys general went through the process, followed by the assessment of competence of assistant attorneys general on Wednesday and Thursday.
Muzahedul said he resigned to 'completely focus' on his profession.
Echoing the sentiment, Musanna, whose evaluation was scheduled for Wednesday, said he skipped the assessment.
