Two associates of PK Halder held in city

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested on Wednesday two associates of former NRB Global Bank Managing Director (MD) Prashanta Kumar Halder (PK Halder).
The arrestees are Sharmin Ahmed (47) and Tania Ahmed (37), daughters of Khabir Uddin, a close associate of PK Halder.
The RAB have arrested the two sisters from the Bashundhara area in the capital on the day as they were trying to leave the country secretly.
They have been living in Canada for nearly two decades (since 2003).
PK Halder who allegedly embezzled Tk 35 billion of Peoples Leasing and Finance Company.
Khabir has allegedly embezzled Tk two (2.0) billion while serving as a director of the company.
His two daughters have taken loans of Tk 660 million from the leasing company and did not pay back.
