Two BCL leaders on remand

A Dhaka court has placed two leaders of banned Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) on a one-day remand each in a case lodged over alleged attempt to murder a Dhaka University (DU) student during the anti- discrimination students movement on July 15, reports BSS.
The two who were put on remand are BCL central joint general secretary and its Shaheed Sergeant Zahurul Huq Hall unit president Kamal Uddin Rana and its Surja Sen Hall unit organizsing secretary Abdullah Khan Shoishab.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Farzana Haque passed the order on Sunday as police produced the duo before the court with a 10-day remand prayer.
