Two BGB men killed, 9 others hurt in road crash

Our Correspondent RANGPUR, Nov 26: Two Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) members were killed and nine others seriously injured as their vehicle crashed in a road accident at Pirganj Upazila in the district today (Saturday) morning. The deceased were identified as Havilder Abul Kalam (45), hailing from Chapainawabganj district, and Havilder Rauf (45), from Gopalganj. Police and locals said, a Dhaka-bound pickup van carrying BGB 45 battalion members tumbled into a roadside ditch at Dubrajpur area at about 9am, leaving two of them dead on the spot and nine others critically injured. On information, police rushed to the spot and sent the bodies to Rangpur Medical College Hospital for autopsy. The injured nine BGB members were taken to Rangpur Combined Military Hospital (RCMH) where they are now undergoing treatment at Coronary Care Unit of the hospital, said a source in Rangpur CMH.
