Two bikers killed in M'singh road crash

MYMENSINGH, Oct 21 (UNB): Two people died when a truck hit their motorcycle on the Dhaka-Mymensingh highway.
The incident happened around 7:30 pm on Saturday in the Raimoni area of Trishal upazila.
The dead are Royal Kazi (35) of Atpara village of Netrokona district and Asif (30) of Shahabagh Kandi village in Matlab upazila of Cumilla. Moin Uddin, officer-in-charge of Trishal thana, confirmed the matter.
According to police and fire service sources, a truck carrying readymix cement of Akiz Group rammed into the motorcycle in the Raimoni area of Trishal upazila on the Dhaka-Mymensingh highway around 7:30pm on Saturday, leaving the two motorcycle riders critically injured.
Locals rescued them in critical condition and took them to Trishal Upazila Health Complex, where an on-duty doctor declared them dead.
Police recovered the bodies from the spot. The truck was seized, but the driver fled. Legal action is under process in this regard, said the OC.
