Two brick fields sealed, another fined, 2 held

SATKHIRA, Mar 10 (UNB): A mobile court sealed two brick fields and fined another one for running the brick field without licence and using firewoods for burning bricks in Tala Upazila this (Friday) afternoon.
The court, led by Executive Magistrate Begum Mashruba Ferdousi, accompanied by Department of Environment officials and assisted by law-enforcers also arrested two workers of KB Bricks near Patkelghata Bazar for keeping firewoods at its kiln.
Court sources said it conducted a drive at Achimtala in Patkelghata area at 2pm and fined Sony Bricks Tk 3,000 for using firewoods to burn bricks.
The same court sealed Rabeya Bricks, putting its gates under lock and key after finding neither owner of the brickfield nor employees present there to produce documents.
Later the court conducted another drive at DB Bricks and found none to talk to as its owners and workers fled the spot before the court had arrived.
The magistrate sealed the brick field and left the area.
Kiln workers Robiul Islam (45), and Samsur Rahman (26), were arrested at K B Bricks where the court conducted raid in the last leg of the drive.
The duo was held as court discovered firewoods piled on the kiln.
