Two buses collide head-on: 7 killed, 50 hurt in Faridpur

At least seven people, including four women, were killed and 50 others injured in a head-on collision between two buses on the Dhaka-Khulna Highway near Maligram bus stand in Bhanga Upazila Monday morning, reports UNB.
Six of the deceased were identified as Accia Begum (36) of Bagerhat district, Suriya Khatun (40) of Bikrampur of Dhaka, Marjina Begum (37) of Nagarkanda of Faridpur, Alya Begum (45) of Nagarkanda, Rina (25) of Dhaka and Rahima Khatun (25) of Gopalganj.
Another deceased person could not be identified immediately.
The police said a Khulna-bound bus of 'Bonoful Paribahan' coming from Dhaka collided with a Dhaka-bound bus from Gopalganj at about 11:30am killing four women on the spot and injuring 52 others.
Three of the critically injured died when they were rushed to the Bhanga Health Complex.
The injured persons were admitted to Bhanga Health Complex and Faridpur Medical College Hospital (FMCH) where conditions of 19 were stated to be critical.
On information, the police recovered the bodies and sent those to the FMCH morgue for autopsy.
