Two children drown in Chuadanga pond

CHUADANGA, May 25 (UNB): Two children drowned in a pond at Shakharia village of Jibannagar upazila of Chuadanga on Saturday morning.
The deceased were identified as Tabassum, 6, daughter of Ashraful Haque, and Ritu, 5, daughter of Raju Ahmed.
According to their family members Tabassum and Ritu were missing for half an hour. Later, while searching for them, their sandals were found in the pond beside the house.
Shimanto Union Parishad Chairman Ishabul Islam Milton Mollah said, "Two children died after falling into the pond while playing."
SM Jabed Hasan, officer-in-charge of Jibannagar Police Station, said an unnatural death case has been filed with the police station. The bodies were taken home by their relatives, said the OC.
