Two hotel staff members were shot dead and its manager also suffered bullet wound in a gun attack by terrors in the capital city's Phulbaria area Monday morning, reports UNB
The dead were identified as Manik (25), a hotel boy and Amir Hossain (25), a cleaner of a residential hotel.
Police said a gang of about 3-4 bandits entered the manager's chamber of Sagotam Residential Hotel at 10 Kazi Hamid Road at about 8:00 am and started shooting "indiscriminately".
Manik fell dead on the spot.
Seriously wounded during the shooting, Amir was rushed to Mitford Hospital where attending doctors declared him dead.
Manager Sarafat Ali was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital with serious bullet wounds in his chest.
The two dead bodies were taken to Mitford Hospital morgue for autopsy.
Motives behind the gun attack and killings -- at a time when there has been a beefed-up security net under the state of emergency -- could not be known immediately.
