Two cops among four killed in two road accidents

Four people were killed in separate road accidents in two districts on Friday, reports UNB
In Faridpur, two policemen were killed when a CNG auto-rickshaw carrying them overturned on the Faridpur-Barishal highway Friday morning.
The accident took place around 4:30 am in the Bhanga area on the Faridpur-Barishal highway, said Bhanga Police Station Officer-in-Charge Ziarul Islam.
The deceased were identified as Nayek Nazmul Hossain and Constable Nasir Uddin.
Five members of the highway police left for Faridpur in a CNG autorickshaw to attend a firing exercise.
The CNG auto-rickshaw overturned in front of the Brothers Filling Station when it came to Pukuria area of Bhangar and caused casualties.
Four others, including the driver, were injured in the incident.
Three of the four injured were identified as Imran Sardar, Zakid Hossain and Mithoaiching Marma. The identity of the auto driver could not be known immediately.
They were taken to Faridpur Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical College Hospital for better treatment, said OC Ziarul.
In Munshiganj, two people were killed when a Dhaka-bound bus smashed into a road divider on Bangabandhu Expressway in Munshiganj's Srinagar upazila Friday morning, police said.
The identities of the deceased could not be known immediately.
Seven others were injured in the incident. Five of them have been admitted to the hospital with serious injuries.
Abdullah Al Tayabir, officer-in-charge of Srinagar police station, said the speeding bus lost control at around 7:15 am on Friday and collided with the road divider.
OC Abdullah said the bus was seized from the accident spot. However, the driver of the bus is still absconding.
Inspector Mahfuz Riben of Srinagar Fire Station said the injured were rescued from the bus and taken to Srinagar Health Complex where doctors declared two passengers dead.
