Two cousins drown in Chandpur pond

CHANDPUR, June 03 (UNB): Two cousins drowned in a pond of Hosenur village in Chandpur's Sadar upazila on Friday.
The deceased were identified as Nusrat, 8, daughter of Salim Khan, and Chan Mia's daughter Mariam Akhter, 10, of the village.
Both were students at Hossainpur Government Primary School.
Md Billal Hossain Master, chairman of Ashikati Union parishad said that the cousins fell into the pond while taking a bath in a pond near their house.
Locals spotted them floating in the water body and took them to the Upazila Health Complex, where doctors declared them dead.
