Two-day SCBA polls begin today

The two-day annual election to the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) will begin today (Wednesday), reports UNB.
The voting will begin at 10 am and will continue till 5pm with a one-hour break on Wednesday and Thursday, said convener of SCBA election conducting committee AY Mashiuzzaman.
A total of 6,152 registered voters can cast their votes to elect the 14-member new executive committee of the apex court bar for the 2018-19 tenure.
Awami League Advisory Council Member Advocate Yusuf Hossain Humayun will vie for the president post from a panel backed by Awami League-led alliance while BNP Vice-chairman Advocate Joynul Abedin from the Jatiyatabadi Ainjibi Oikya Parisad (JAOP) backed by the BNP-Jamaat alliance.
