Two DGHS officials face graft case

Tuesday, 9 June 2015

The Anti-corruption Commission (ACC) is set to file a case against two officials of the Directorate General of Health Service (DGHS) for allegedly misappropriating nearly Tk 1.5 million from a health project, reports UNB.
The Commission at its regular meeting approved on Monday a proposal for filing a case against the DGHS officials, ACC public relations officer Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya told the news agency.
The case will be filed against Prof M Amirul Hasan, line director of Non-Communicable Disease Control Unit, and its accounts officer M Abdul Hamid.
All the accused in collusion with each other swindled out the amount from the Non-Communicable Disease Control Project implemented under the Health, Population and Nutrition Sector Development Programme of the Health Ministry, showing fake documents.
