Two die from clash injuries at CMCH

Two men, injured in a clash over land among two rival groups at Shriang village in Laksam upazila in Comilla district, died at Comilla Medical College Hospital (CMCH) on Sunday. The deceased were identified as Abdur Rahim, 30, son of Shafiqur Rahman, and Sultan, 28, son of Abdul Mannan, both residents of the village. Quoting local people, police said Saiful and Selim of Shriang village had been at loggerheads over the ownership of a piece of land. On Saturday, both the groups led by Saiful and Selim had an altercation over the issue. At one stage, the two groups, equipped with lethal weapons, attacked each other, leaving people 15 injured, including Abdur Rahim and Sultan. The injured were rushed to different hospitals and local clinics. Abdur Rahim and Sultan were taken to Comilla Medical College Hospital in critical condition, where they succumbed to their injuries this (Sunday) morning, according to a news agency.
