Two die in separate incidents in Barisal

BARISAL, Aug 3 (UNB): Two people, including a teenage boy, died in separate incidents in sadar upazila of the district on Friday.
Family sources said Ridoy, 13, son of Krishak Federation Barisal unit president Harun Vandari, died from electrocution at his house at Nazir Mahalla area of the city on Friday night.
Ridoy received electric shock when he switched on the water-pump in his house at about 8:00 pm. He was rushed to Barisal Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital where doctors declared him dead.
In another incident, Nazmul ,20, son of Ali Ahmed from Charkawa area of Barisal, drowned in Kirtankhola River on Friday night.
Family sources said the battery of the mobile phone of Nazmul fell into the river while he was trying to change SIM card while gossiping with his friends on the river bank at about 7:00 pm.
Nazmul jumped into the river in search of the battery and drowned.
Later, his floating body was recovered from the river.
Police said both the bodies were handed over to their family members.
Separate UD cases were filed.
