Two doctors \\\'temporarily suspended\\\'

The health ministry has “temporarily suspended” two doctors and one medical assistant for negligence of duty. Dr Ilias bin-Akbar of Gholia Sub-centre at Bhaluka in Mymensingh district and Dr Nasrin Salam of the same upazilla’s Uthura Sub-centre were not found in office during working hours, a ministry media release said. The medical assistant, SECMO, who suffered the same fate for identical reasons, was identified as AR Abdul Baki of the Uthura Sub-centre. However, details were not yet available. The ministry also ordered the Director General of Health Services to notify across Bangladesh that all medical staff must stay their workplace, said minister’s Public Relation Office Parikkhit Chowdhury. The notice came days after new health minister Mohammad Nasim’s warning that doctors must serve at their rural workplace for at least two years or else they would lose their jobs, according to a news agency.
