Two drug traders convicted

A mobile court in Chuadanga has convicted two drug traders, sentencing them to six months imprisonment for possessing contraband wine. The convicts are Ariful Islam, 26, son of Rabiul Islam of Goyeshpur village and Bachchu Mia, 27, son of Abdus Sattar of Laxmipur village under Jibannagar Upazila of the district. On Thursday, Jibannager police arrested the two with several bottles of wine from Shakaria village of the same upazila. They were produced before the mobile court headed by Jibannagar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Nurul Hafiz. The court after examining the witnesses handed down the punishment, according to a news agency.
