Two electrocuted, three injured in lightning

NILPHAMARI, Apr 18: Two siblings were electrocuted while three others sustained injuries in lightning during a storm in the district early Saturday, reports UNB.
Police and witnesses said Hamidul Islam (40), and his younger brother Habul Mia (35), died instantly when a live electric wire snapped and fell on them during the storm at Chikonmati village in Domar Upazila at about 5:00 am.
Habul's wife Moyna Begum was also injured critically as she tried to save them. She was rushed to the local health complex.
Besides, three people were critically injured as a thunderbolt struck them while working on a paddy field at Bara Sangalsy village in Sadar Upazila at about 5:30 am.
The injured were admitted to Sadar Modern Hospital.
