Two farmers hacked to death in Narsingdi

NARSINGDI, Apr 07 (UNB): A youth with possibly mental health issues hacked two farmers to death and injured another in Sagriapara village of Sadar upazila in Narsingdi on Wednesday.
The deceased were identified as Farhad Mia, 60, son of Abul Fazal, and Ali Akbar, 50, son of Dewan Ali. Police have arrested the attacker Yunus Ali, 24, son of Abdul Mannan in this regard.
Locals said the youth suddenly attacked the farmers who were working in the field with sharp weapons killing one of them on the spot and injuring others.
Another farmer died on way to hospital. Later, locals caught Yunus and handed him over to police.
Officer-in-Charge of Sadar Police Station Biplob Kumar Datta Chowdhury said they are investigating the reason of the incident.
They would also conduct medical tests to assess the mental state of the attacker, he said. The bodies were sent to the morgue for autopsy, the OC said.
