Two FE journos bag DRU Best Reporting Award

Two reporters of The Financial Express (FE) have won two out of three best reporting awards of the Dhaka Reporters' Unity announced on Sunday.
Special correspondents of the daily -- Doulot Akter Mala and Jasim Uddin Haroon--received the DRU Best Reporting Award 2023 in macroeconomic category and investigative economic reporting category respectively.
Information and Broadcasting Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud distributed the awards to the winners at a ceremony at Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy.
A total of 20 reporters of print, online and broadcast media in 19 categories won the DRU award, which carries a Tk50,000 cheque, a crest and a certificate, sponsored by Al Arafa Bank Limited.
The FE reporters received the awards sponsored by BGMEA for three best awards amounting to Tk100,000.
DRU Jury Board Chairman Shahjahan Sardar disclosed the names of the awardees at the ceremony with DRU President Mursalin Nomani in the chair.
DRU General Secretary Mainul Hasan Sohel moderated the function. Senior Vice President of Al Arafa Bank Ltd Jalal Ahmed also spoke on the occasion.
Other award winners are: Abu Saleh Roni of Dainik Samakal, Shahin Akhtar of The New Age, Adnan Rahman of Dhaka Post, Rahim Sheikh of Dainik Janakantha, Rahenur Islam of Dainik Kaler Kantha, Farukh Ahmed of Dainik Jugantor, Faisal Khan of Dainik Protidiner Bangladesh, Arefin Tanjir of Channel I online, Mohammad Yusuf of Dainik Kalbela, Rajib Ahmed of Dainik Samakal, Jhorna Moni of Dainik Bhorer Kagoj, Ismail Ali of Sharebiz and Arifur Rahman of Dainik Prothom Alo-- from print and online media.
Another BGMEA best winner is Emdadul Hoque Tuhin of Sarabangla.net.
