CHUADANGA, Sept 26: Two friends have been strangulated to death in Alamdanga upazila of Chuadanga district.
Police recovered the bodies of Hafizur Rahman and his friend Roni from a paddy field in Boalia village under the upazila on Saturday morning.
Farmers spotted the bodies of the two friends in the paddy field and informed police.
Later, the law enforcers recovered the bodies and sent those to hospital for autopsy.
Police said Hafizur and Roni went out from their respective houses on Friday night on an invitation on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha.
Since then they had remained missing.
Officer-in-charge (Investigation) of Alamdanga Police Station Mehedi Russel said an incident of mugging took place in the village four days ago, for which Roni and his friends were blamed.
They were strangulated to death by jute fibre, he said, adding that the murder might have taken place as a sequel to snatching.—UNB
