Two get 10 yrs life in jail for possessing arms

BARISAL, Sept 13 (UNB): A tribunal here Wednesday convicted two youths and awarded them 10 years imprisonment for possessing arms. The convicts are Sobhan and Kazem of Hizla Upazila.
According to the prosecution, the accused were arrested from Rupatali bus stand area of the city by Rapid Action Batalion-8 for their suspicious movement on April 12, 2007 and a pipe gun with two rounds of bullet were recovered from their possession.
A case was filed against them under the Arms Act.
Tribunal Judge Abdus Salek pronounced the verdict after examining the records and 11 witnesses.
