Two hacked dead in Satkhira, Savar

In separate incidents, two people were chopped to death in Satkhira and Savar of Dhaka district on Friday, reports UNB.
The deceased were identified as Zakir Hossain, 25, son of Zamiruddin Sarker of Sharafpur village in Ashashuni upazila of Satkhira, and Saidul Islam, 25, son of Abdus Sattar of Imandipur in Savar municipality.
Zakir Hossain was killed by his wife Meherunnesa over a marital discord, said locals.
They said Meherunnesa hacked her husband while he was sleeping at their house in the evening, leaving him dead on the spot.
On information, police recovered the body and sent it to hospital for autopsy.
Officer-in-charge Tariqul Islam of Ashashuni Police Station said they have arrested Meherunnesa in connection with the murder.
In Savar, Saidul was chopped to death allegedly by some drug addicts at Imandipur in the morning.
Victim's relatives said some local youths, led by Rocky, 20, swooped on Saidul when he was gossiping with his neighbours at a tea stall near his house around 11am.
The attackers stabbed the youth with sharp weapons, slit his throat and left the spot hurriedly.
Critically injured, Saidul was rushed to local Enam Medical College Hospital where on-duty doctors declared him dead.
