NARAYANGANJ, Aug 10 (UNB): Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) have detained two members of a human trafficking gang from Maheshpur border in Jhenaidah while trafficking a 15-year-old girl to India.
The detainees are Hasan (18) of Munshiganj and Shamim alias Rakib (18), of Chandpur.
BGB members later handed over the duo along with the rescued girl to Fatulla Model police station on Tuesday, said Sheikh Rezaul Haque Dipu, officer-in-charge (OC) of Fatulla Model thana.
Earlier, the victim's father filed a missing complaint with the thana on Sunday night.
The girl used to work in a garment factory where she developed love affair with her colleague Roni and planned to elope with him.
On Sunday, as per their plan Rony's associate Hasan picked her up from the garment's gate and on their way Rakib joined them on a bus to Jhenaidah.
