Two held with arms and ammo in Jessore

Police in separate drives arrested two people along with firearms and ammunition from different parts of Jessore district on Thursday night. Tofail Ahmed, sub-inspector of the Detective Branch of Police, said a team of detectives conducted a drive at a rice mill and arrested Rabiul from Barinagar Bazar in sadar upazila around 10:30pm. Following confessional statement, police recovered one shutter gun, two rounds of bullets, two sharp weapons and 200 pieces of Yaba tablet from under a bed. In another incident, a team of police arrested a young man named Mizanur Rahman Mizu along with a country-made pistol and three bombs from Najir Shankarpur in the town around 12:30 am, said sub-inspector of Kotwali Model Police Station, Abdur Rahim Hawladar. Three separate cases were filed in this connection, according to a news agency.
