Two housewives commit suicide in city

In separate incidents, two housewives reportedly committed suicide in the city's Pallabi and Kalabagan areas on Tuesday night, reports UNB.
The deceased were identified as Saraban Tahura alias Tuhin (26), wife of Abdul Momen of 14/7 North Dhanmondi under Kalabagan thana, and Mukta Banu (25), wife of Shafiqul Islam of Alabdirtek Paschimpara under Pallabi thana.
Being informed, sub-inspector (SI) Shamim Ahmed of Kalabagan thana recovered the hanging body of Tuhin after breaking the door of her bedroom at around 1:05 am, said sources at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).
Tuhin was married off to Momen eight years back following love affairs. She was reportedly mentally ill, the DMCH sources said quoting her family members.
Tuhin might have taken her life over a family feud, police said.
Earlier at about 11:50 pm, SI Jahangir Alam of Pallabi thana recovered the body of Mukta Banu from her bedroom.
