Two Indians killed in Mecca

The death toll in crane collapse on the Grand Mosque in Mecca, Saudi Arabia, rose to 109 as two Indian Hajj pilgrims succumbed to their injuries at a hospital on Saturday. India’s ministry of external affairs has said that the two Indians, injured critically in Friday night’s crane accident at the Holy Masjid Al Haram died in a Saudi hospital in the morning. "Our officials from the Indian Consulate in Jeddah had been on the ground and monitored the situation through the night. Regrettably we have been informed that two Indians have died in the accident," officials of the ministry said on their website on Saturday morning. The statement also added that 15 Indians have been injured and were being treated in various hospitals in Saudi Arabia. "These include 11 from the Hajj Committee of India and four from private tour operators," officials said.
At least 109 have been killed and 238 injured people rescued from the Grand Mosque after the crane crashed on to holy pilgrimage site near Holy Ka’aba, media reports said on Saturday.
