Two jailed for six months for attempting to cast fake votes

SIRAJGANJ, Jan 07 (UNB): A mobile court sentenced two people to six months in jail each on charges of attempting to cast fake votes at a centre in Salanga police station under Sirajganj-3 constituency on Sunday.
The mobile court led by Executive Magistrate Ishrat Jahan sentenced them.
The convicts are Iqbal Hossain Sarkar, 41, and Mobarak Hossain, 40, hailing from Basudevkol Dakshinpara village in Raipur upazila.
Magistrate Ishrat said that the duo was standing in a queue with other voters at Islamia Dakhil Madrasa centre at Basudevkol Dakshinpara.
Upon suspicion, they were challenged and interrogated about their presence in the queue, she said.
