Two killed, 55 injured in road accidents in Ctg, Manikganj

Two people were killed and 55 others injured in separate road accidents in Chittagong and Manikganj districts Thursday, reports UNB.
In Chittagong, a woman, Shamsun Nahar, was killed and five other people were injured in a head-on collision between a private car and a CNG-run auto-rickshaw at Baro Awlia under Sitakunda Upazila early Thursday.
The police said the accident occurred at about 12:30am when the victims were returning home from their relative's house at Hathazari.
In Manikganj, a septuagenarian man was killed and 50 other people were injured as a bus plunged into a roadside ditch at Galura under Sadar Upazila in the morning.
The deceased was identified as Mahmud Ali (70).
The police said the accident occurred at about 9:30am when the victims were returning from the shrine of Hazrat Shahjalal in Sylhet.
Twenty of the injured were rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital while the rest to Sadar Hospital.
