Two killed as 2 trawlers capsize in Gazipur

GAZIPUR, Jan 23: Two people were killed as two trawlers capsized following a collision in the Shitalakkhya River at Nandia Sanghun of Sreepur upazila Friday. The deceased were identified as Asma Begum( 32), wife of Abdul Khaleque of Sutarpur village of Pagla thana in Mymensingh district, and Sabikunnahar, eight-month-old daughter of Ashrafuddin of Kauraid area of Sreepur upazila. Police said a Trimohani-bound trawler Barmi from Sreepur collided with another Barmi-bound trawler from Kapasia in the area around 1 pm. Both the trawlers sank in the river following the collision. — UNB
