Two killed in Gaibandha road accident

GAIBANDHA, May 18 (BSS): Two persons including a child were killed and 15 others injured in a road accident at Batrish Mile area on the Rangpur-Bogra highway under Sadullapur upazila of the district early this morning.
The victims were Abu Taleb, 50, son of Mansur Ali of Kasamari village under Lalmonirhat Sadar upazila and Ashura, 7, daughter of Akbar Ali of Ulipur upazila in Kurigram district.
Police said the accident occurred when a Sylhet bound bus hit a stone-laden standing truck in the area, leaving two passengers of the bus dead on the spot and 15 others injured.
The injured were sent to Pirganj Upazila Health Complex. Later, five persons were shifted to Rangpur Medical College Hospital in critical condition.
