Two killed in Gazipur road accidents

GAZIPUR, Apr 11 (UNB): Two people were killed in separate road accidents in Sreepur upazila of the district on Friday night and Saturday morning.
Helalul Islam, officer-in-charge of Mawna Police Station, said Shammi Akter Chumki, 22, a garment worker, was killed when a Mymensingh-bound bus ran over her in C&B area on the Dhaka-Mymensingh highway in the upazila around 7:30 am. Police seized the bus but could not arrest anyone as the driver managed to flee the scene.
In another incident, Aminul Islam, 45, of Teper Bari in Sreepur upazila was killed when a bus knocked down him on the Dhaka-Mymensingh highway in AMC Bazar area of the upazila around 11:30 pm.
