Two killed in road mishaps in 2 dists

KISHOREGANJ, Dec 9 (UNB): A young man was killed and six others were injured in a bloody clash between two groups over land dispute at Saheber char village in Hossainpur Upazila Wednesday.
The deceased was identified as Nazmul Islam (20), son of late Suruj Fakir of the village.
Police and locals said there was a longstanding dispute between Abdus Samad and Nazmul over the ownership of a plot of land.
The clash ensued at noon when the two groups equipped with lethal weapons attacked each other that left farmer Nazmul dead on the spot and six others critically injured.
Of the injured Lal Mia (60) and Nizu Mia (26) were admitted to Kishoreganj General Hospital while Ratan Mia (30), Kala Mia (55), Alamin (24), and Sajal (40), to Hossainpur Upazila health complex.
On information, police rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control.
Another report from Natore adds : A man was killed and eight others were injured when a speedy bus hit a stationary truck at Lathuria in Boraigram Upazila early Thursday.
Police said the Ishwardi bound bus of Sony Paribahan coming from the capital dashed the goods laden stationary truck from behind at the point on Natore-Pabna highway, leaving an unidentified bus passenger dead on the spot and eight others injured at about 2am.
The injured passengers were admitted to different clinics.
