Two listed criminals held in Khulna

KHULNA, May 20 (BSS): Police arrested two listed criminals from different areas in the city Tuesday night.
The arrestees are Gansh Chakroborty (35), son of late Kalipada Chakraborty, resident at Tootpara area and Md. Ziaur Rahman Shaon (36), son of late Babor Ali Sana, hailing from Gutudia village under Dumuria upazila in Khulna.
Additional Commissioner  of KMP Moniruzzaman Mithu said on receipt of secret information police arrested Ganesh from in front of City's Shishu Hospital area at about 7:00 pm on Tuesday night.
Ganesh was accused in a dozen of cases including murder, robbery and extortion in Khulna Police Station.
Ganesh was also the prime accused of the murder cases of ex-city unit Awami League president advocate Manjurul Imam, ex- treasurer of Khulna University Sarder Abdur Razzak and Dainik Janmobhumi Editor Humayun Kabir Balu.
Ganesh is a listed criminal of the KMP, he said adding that the criminal re-started crime activities after getting bail from a Khulna Court.
Harintana Police arrested Ziaur Rahman from Rajbadh area in the city around 10:20 pm on Tuesday.
