Two lynched in C\\\'nawabganj

Two people were killed in a mob beating in Dhainagar area of Shibganj Upazila in Chapainawabganj district on Wednesday night. The identities of the dead could not be known. Shibganj Police Station officer-in-charge Ashiqur Rahman and witnesses said a group of unruly local people caught the two young men around 7:30pm and gave them a tremendous thrashing, leaving them critically injured. On information, police rescued the two young men and rushed them to Shibganj Upazila Health Complex around 8:30pm where the two youths succumbed to their injuries. Some of the local people claimed that the two were muggers, a claim that many other people contradicted, according to a news agency.
