Two minors drown in Jhenidah pond

Two minor children drowned in a pond at Pariyat village in Kaliganj upazila of Jhenidah district on Sunday. The deceased were identified as Adrita, 3, daughter of Aminul Islam of the village, and Orpo, 3, son of Emdadul Haque of the same area. Khalek Mollah, a resident of the village, said the two kids slipped into the pond near their house while they were playing on its bank around 3pm. After a frantic search, the family members spotted their floating body in the pond around 4pm. Anwar Hossain, officer-in-charge of Kaliganj Police Station, confirmed the incident, according to a news agency.
