Two minors drown in rain water

Two minors drowned in a pond inundated by rain water in Madhabpur Upazila in Habiganj district on Friday afternoon. The deceased were identified as Suma Akter, 8, and Ruma Akhter, 2, daughters of Shamim Miah, a resident of Kalikrishnanagar village. Police said the two siblings went missing on Friday afternoon. Later, locals spotted their floating bodies in flood waters near the pond around 5.00pm. They were rescued and taken to Madhabpur Upazila Health Complex where doctors declared them dead, according to a news agency.
