Two Mongla jetties to be taken over by pvt management

The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs on Wednesday approved a project to hand over two incomplete jetties of Mongla Port Authority to private management for long-term development under the Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT), reports UNB.
The approval was given in the 7th meeting of the Economic Affairs Committee with Finance Minister AMA Muhith in the chair.
Briefing reporters after the meeting, Cabinet Secretary M Abdul Aziz said that a terms coordination committee will be formed to pursue the handing over process in accordance with the Bangladesh Private Sector Infrastructure Guidelines (BPSIG).
He said another project relating to additional work of 4.8 km link road on Barisal-Bhola Highway titled 'Barisal-Patuakhali Highway Dapdapia Bridge construction (2nd revised)' under the financial assistance of Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED) has been sent to the Cabinet Purchase Committee for consideration.
