Two more young men were arrested by the law enforcers from Dholaikhal in the capital Monday for their suspected links with the killing of the second officer of Bangshal police station, RAB sources said.
The arrestees were identified as Kala Jakir and Haider. "Both were local muggers," a RAB official said.
Based on the confessional statement of Ahmed Ali alias Haider, who was arrested earlier over the murder, the elite force members arrested Jakir and Haider from Dholaikhal of the Old Dhaka in the morning, he said.
The officer also said the arrested admitted their direct involvement in the killing during preliminary interrogation.
Unknown gunmen killed Gautam Roy, a police officer, on April 20 at Lalmohan Shaha a Street in Sutrapur on his way home when he along with two friends were attacked by three young men.
