Two more JMB cadres surrender in Rangpur

RANGPUR, July 17 (BSS): Two more cadres of the outlawed Jama'atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) surrendered to Gangachhara thana police here admitting their mistakes this noon, police sources said.
Earlier, four JMB cadres surrendered on June 25, six listed militants on June 20 and seven other listed and absconding JMB militants surrendered to Gangachhara police on June 14.
They are now leading normal life after getting bail from Rangpur court later.
The number of surrendered JMB cadres now have gone up to 19 in 33 days.
Those who surrendered Tuesday are Shafiqul Islam (28), son of Jamsher Ali of village Saudpara and Foyzul Islam (42), son of Haji Abdul Jabbar of village Paikan Bangpara under Gangachhara Upazila in the district.
Gangachhara police showed them arrested under section 54 and later produced them before a Rangpur court Tuesday afternoon from where they were sent to jail hajat.
Earlier on June 25, JMB cadres Shafikul Alam Siju (29), two brothers Panna Mia (26) and Lipu Mia (24), and Rezaul Haque (24), of village Paikan under Gangachhara Upazila in the district surrendered to the same thana police.
On June 20, three brothers Shafiqul Islam alias Noya Mia (40), Belal alias Nazrul Islam (35), and his twin Bachcha Mia (35), Taz Uddin Ahmed alias Tazu (26), Abdus Sobhan (50), and Ashraful Alam alias Ashraful (48) of village Chengmari in the same upazila surrendered.
On June 12, JMB cadres Azizul Islam (22), Ebrahim Khalil (27), Ashikul Islam (22), Azaharul Ali alias Wanur (22), Johurul Islam (23), and his brother Abdul Baten (20), and Faizur Rahman alias Fazlu (19) of the upazila surrendered to Gangachhara police.
"Investigation will be conducted against these two militants and if there are no pending cases against them in connection with subversive activities, they can get the same privilege to lead normal life after getting bail", police officials said.
