Two more victims die, death toll reaches five

CHATTOGRAM, Sept 23 (BSS): Two more people, who were critically injured in a gas cylinder explosion at a warehouse in Chandanaish upazila, died while undergoing treatment at the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery (NIBPS) in Dhaka on Tuesday morning, family members confirmed.
The deceased were identified as Md Harun, 30, son of Nurul Islam of Chandanaish, and Md Saleh Uddin, 17, son of late Abdul Jalil under the same upazila.
With the latest deaths, the toll from the incident has risen to five. Five others are still receiving treatment in different hospitals in Chattogram and Dhaka.
Earlier, gas cylinder shop owner Mahbubur Rahman, 45, Md Idris, 26, of Chandanaish, and Md Yusuf, 30, of Cox's Bazar, also died from burn injuries sustained in the blast.
The explosion occurred on the morning of September 17 at a gas cylinder warehouse in Charati Char area, near the border of Chandanaish and Satkania upazilas.
