Two nat'l soccer teams to be named today

Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) will announce today (Saturday) separate national football squads for the upcoming two international meets to be held this month.
The BFF would name a 20-member squad for the Nehru Cup Football Tournament and another 18-member squad for the Merdeka Football Tournament, BFF Acting General Secretary Manjoor Hossain Malu told the UNB.
The six-team Nehru Cup will be held on August 16-29 in New Delhi while the six-team Merdeka Football Tournament to be held on August 19-29 in Kuala Lumpur.
Earlier, BFF primarily selected 45 booters in two batches -- 25 in the first batch and 20 in the second batch -- to form separate teams for the two traditional football tournaments.
The initially selected booters are attending a residential training camp since August 1 under the supervision of famed Indian coach Syed Nayeemuddin at the BKSP in Savar.
