Two obstacles to hold dialogue: Quader

Tuesday, 19 August 2014

Communications Minister Obaidul Quader on Tuesday observed that the August 15 killings and the August 21 grenade attack are the main obstacles to holding dialogue between two major political parties. “Dialogue is not taking place for two reasons -- the gruesome murder on August 15 and the attempt to kill Bangabandhu’s daughter (Hasina) through the August 21 grenade attack. A national consensus is not possible for the two incidents,” he said. The minister was addressing a meeting marking the 39th death anniversary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at Sheikh Hasina National Youth Centre in Dhaka, according to a news agency.
