Two of a family die in road accident

JHENIDAH, Sept 23 (UNB): Two members of a family were killed and another injured in a tragic road accident at Barobazar in Kaliganj Upazila here on the Dhaka-Khulna highway Sunday morning.
The deceased was identified as Hafizur Rahman (35) of Pirojpour village in Kaliganj Upazila and his two- year old son Syed while the injured is Hafizur's wife Shimu.
Witnesses said when Hafizur along with his wife and son was going to Jessore by a rickshaw-van, a Jessore-bound covered-van dashed their three-wheeler from behind at about 11am leaving Hafizur and his son dead on the spot.
Vehicular movement remained halted for over an hour on the route as local people in protest staged demonstration putting barricade on the road.
The police on information rushed to the spot and restored the communication. The bodies were sent to the Sadar hospital morgue for autopsy.
