PABNA, June 30 (UNB): Two terrorists were killed in an encounter between their accomplices and a joint force of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) and police at Swarpara village under Ataikula thana Monday.
The deceased were identified as Swapan (30) and Zahurul Islam (35). Swapan was the kingpin of an outlawed party locally known as 'Alam-Swapan Bahini' and both of them were accused in a number of cases, including murder and extortion, RAB sources said.
A joint team of RAB-12 and police raided Swarpara Dakhil Madrasah area based on information that Swapan and his gang were holding a clandestine meeting there.
But, as they reached the spot, the gang started firing on them forcing the law enforcers to fire back triggering a gun-battle.
