Two pirates slain in RAB encounter

BARGUNA, Oct 23: Two alleged pirates were killed in a gunfight with RAB on Baleshwar River in Patharghata upazila early Saturday. The deceased were identified as Manik (45) and Jahangir (42). Acting on a tip-off, a patrol team of RAB-8 chased a group of pirates along the river at about 2:30 am. The miscreants opened fire on the elite force triggering a gunfight that left the two pirates dead on the spot. — UNB
