Two polling centres cancelled in Satkhira

SATKHIRA, Dec 29 (UNB): Two polling centres under Satkhira-3 were cancelled following an allegation of influencing voters in casting their votes Monday although the overall voting was peaceful in the district.
The cancelled polling centres are Protapnagar Government Primary School and Protapnagar United Academy of the constituency.
When contacted, Returning Officer of the district Md Mizanur Rahman said the executive magistrate cancelled the centres following an allegation that a particular group influenced voters in casting their votes.
Meanwhile, four-party alliance polling agent Yakub Ali was arrested on charge of helping a woman cast fake vote at Sakhipur Union Parisad polling centre under Satkhira-3 constituency.
